membership, worth it or not
The AI Score: 28 of 100
It measures how likely AI engines are to recommend a business, and how accurately. Palo Alto women's clothing stores run 25 to 33. Fair starts at 45, good at 65. Johnny Was scores 28, level with the Palo Alto average. The same method scores every business on the registry.
| Signal | Weight | Score | What it measures | Johnny Was |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Retrieval grounding | 26 | 0 | Whether you appear in the ranked results AI retrieves and cites: AI-Overview citations, organic top-10 for your money queries, and the Bing index ChatGPT leans on. | Poor |
| Off-property attestation | 20 | 40 | Volume and consistency of what others say about you: YouTube mentions, branded web mentions, third-party “best-of” lists. The cause of retrievability. | Poor |
| AI visibility | 14 | 12 | Whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and AI Overviews name you, and whether they name you for the right service. | Poor |
| Reviews & response | 12 | 78 | The star average is only one input. We also read volume, velocity, the specificity of review language, and response cadence. Specific reviews are what AI quotes verbatim. | Good |
| Backlink & citation authority | 8 | 63 | Domain authority and editorial quality of the sources that attest to you. | Fair |
| Google Business Profile | 8 | 90 | Required and recommended fields; update cadence. The listing AI pulls from first. | Good |
| Speed & mobile | 7 | 42 | Core Web Vitals at the 75th percentile, on a real phone. | Poor |
| Content freshness & schema | 5 | 79 | Crawl recency, intent alignment, valid JSON-LD, canonicals. | Good |

The code behind this page
This is exactly what this page sends to Google, Bing, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini. We publish it in the open for two reasons: so you can see nothing here is hidden or made up, and so any business or developer can copy it. Being a good local AI steward means the machine version says exactly what the human version says.
1. HTTP response headers
Sent before the page. They tell crawlers the canonical address and that a plain markdown copy exists.
HTTP/2 200 content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8 link: <https://localairegistry.com/biz/ca/palo-alto/johnny-was-palo-alto-ca>; rel="canonical", <https://localairegistry.com/biz/ca/palo-alto/johnny-was-palo-alto-ca.md>; rel="alternate"; type="text/markdown", <https://localairegistry.com/llms.txt>; rel="describedby"
2. Head tags
Title, description, canonical, robots and Open Graph tags. This is what shows in search results and link previews.
<meta charset="utf-8"> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"> <title>Johnny Was, Palo Alto CA: Reviews</title> <meta name="description" content="Women's clothing store in Palo Alto, CA. 4.4 on Google from 13 reviews."> <meta name="robots" content="index, follow"> <link rel="canonical" href="https://localairegistry.com/biz/ca/palo-alto/johnny-was-palo-alto-ca"> <link rel="alternate" type="text/markdown" href="https://localairegistry.com/biz/ca/palo-alto/johnny-was-palo-alto-ca.md"> <meta property="og:title" content="Johnny Was, Palo Alto CA: Reviews"> <meta property="og:description" content="Women's clothing store in Palo Alto, CA. 4.4 on Google from 13 reviews."> <meta property="og:url" content="https://localairegistry.com/biz/ca/palo-alto/johnny-was-palo-alto-ca"> <meta property="og:site_name" content="Local AI Registry"> <meta property="og:type" content="website"> <meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image"> <meta name="geo.position" content="37.438923;-122.159113"> <meta name="ICBM" content="37.438923, -122.159113"> <meta name="geo.region" content="US-CA"> <meta name="geo.placename" content="Palo Alto">
3. Structured data (JSON-LD)
One connected graph. Every person and service has its own @id and links to the business, and a licensed person links to the license and the board that issued it.

This is the evidence for every fact on this page, across Locals, Services, Team, Visit, Reputation and Updates. Each reference names the fact, the source, what kind of source it is, and the date it was checked, with a link and an archived copy so anyone can verify it. Visitor references are dated firsthand accounts. AI guesses record what an AI engine said on that date, not what is true.
