What happens if you do nothing

Silence is not consent, except in four places you can switch off. Everything else waits for you for as long as it takes.

That is the opposite of how most of this kind of service works, and it is deliberate. Your Google listing is yours. An item that published because you were busy is an item you did not agree to.

Four kinds of work start switched on. You can turn any of them off in your settings.

• A reply to a review of three stars or more publishes after three business days. Weekends do not count. A customer who praised you should not be left without an answer because it was a bank holiday.
• A photo you uploaded yourself goes to your Google listing. You chose the picture; there is nothing for us to ask.
• A name, address and phone sync out to the directories. It is your own record being made consistent.
• Schema and metadata on your own site. Invisible to a reader, trivial to roll back.

• Google posts. They carry a suggested date, but they do not publish on that date unless you have switched the type on. Left alone, a post simply never goes up.
• Blog posts and website copy. Long-form writing in your name always needs an explicit yes.
• Changes to your public entry. Anything that alters what a visitor reads about you needs your sign-off.
• A topical map. Agreeing the plan is the whole point of it, so approving it by timeout would say nothing.
• A reply to a one or two star review. None is ever drafted, so there is nothing that could reach a timer.

A press release is the exception in the other direction. The date on it is a deadline, not a publish date. If it is still unanswered when the deadline passes, the release expires and the order is cancelled before anything is bought.

A wire release cannot be recalled once it has gone out to hundreds of outlets. So silence there is read as no, not as yes, and the reminders escalate as the date approaches rather than arriving once.

Once. An item sitting in your queue for two days without a decision earns one reminder email, and then nothing more. A daily chase teaches you to filter us.

The approval link in an email works for fourteen days and belongs to one person. When it expires the item is still in your dashboard queue, and replying to the email gets you a fresh link.

Nothing breaks and nothing is held against you. A declined draft is dropped, the slot is not lost, and the next one comes at the subject from a different angle.

What changes is the record. A month where nothing published is a month with an empty "what we did" section on your report, and your Sunday email does not send at all. The work that does not depend on your approval carries on: the directory build, the AI captures, the score re-scan, the removal petitions.

If you are declining most drafts, the reason you give each time is worth more than the decline itself. We turn it into a standing rule, and the drafts change.

You do not have to decline the same thing repeatedly to stop it. Set your Google post cadence to paused and no post is drafted. Set review replies to ask you first and every reply waits. Both are in your settings, and both take effect on the next pass.
